The following list contains helpful numbers for getting settled into your Queen Creek home.

Water/Sewer
Water and Sewer/Wastewater are provided by the Town of Queen Creek. To sign up for new service, call 480-358-3450. The Utilities Department is located on the first floor of the Municipal Services Building, 22358 S. Ellsworth Road, Queen Creek, AZ 85142. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The office is closed Friday through Sunday and on holidays.

Waste Disposal
The Queen Creek Town Council approved a contract with Waste Connections of Arizona (Formerly RAD) for Town-wide trash and recycling services. The information below will assist customers with their solid waste needs. A monthly rate of $16.22 will be added as a line item to the Town of Queen Creek Utilities Bill* and includes the following list of services:

• Trash and recycling, same-day collection 1 x week, curbside
• Bulk collection, scheduled 1 x month, curbside
• Five special events per year, drop-off
• Reduced self-haul gate rate to the Waste Connections of Arizona (formerly RAD) transfer station, $10 per truck/trailer load
• Neighborhood drop-off recycling located at Crewse Lane and Ellsworth Road

*Areas receiving water service from H20, Inc. will receive a separate billing from the Town for trash services

Queen Creek Library (Maricopa County Library)
The Queen Creek branch of the Maricopa County Library provides full library services, materials in all formats, adult and juvenile programming and public access Internet accessible computers. Do you live in the Town of Queen Creek?

Having a "Queen Creek" postal address might not mean that you live within the Town's incorporated boundaries. The incorporated boundaries for the Town of Queen Creek are separate and distinct from the US Postal Zip Codes (85142 & 85143) that are designated as "Queen Creek."

Voter Registration
The easiest and most important way for citizens to participate in their community is to vote. Whether an election is held to choose local leaders, approve public debt, or allow the Town to enter agreements, the voice of each voter counts. Since Queen Creek’s population is small, a few votes can affect local decisions. By exercising your right to vote, you not only are a good citizen, but you set an example for future generations.

Local Elections
The Town Clerk's office conducts local elections.  Effective in 2014, Queen Creek's regularly scheduled candidate elections will be held in the fall of even-numbered years

• Primary Election is held on the tenth Tuesday before the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November
• General Election is held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November

Buying a New Home
Purchasing a home is one of the most important decisions you will make. Take time to thoroughly research your potential neighborhood and make sure that it is right for you. The following list contains suggestions to consider when purchasing a new home in Queen Creek:

• Contact the Town or visit QueenCreek.org to learn about what is planned for the area near your potential home, including updates to infrastructure and transportation.
• Read the purchase contract carefully! You might want to review this contract with an attorney or real estate professional.
• Before you sign the purchase agreement, explore the neighborhood. Look for things such as hazards and noises that could be of later concern to you and your family.
• Know the town, county and school district boundaries in the area near your potential home.
• Read the covenants, conditions and restrictions (CC&Rs) of the home owners association (HOA) for the subdivision you are considering. The CC&Rs might add restrictions on your property that you should know.
• If buying a previously occupied home, consider having the home inspected by a professional home inspector. Make sure all the fixtures and plumbing work.
• Know if your potential property is a “wildcat split”—a wildcat split is a piece of property that has been sub-divided into five or fewer parcels. While legal under state law, the initial property owner is not required to put in roads, sewer connections or utilities. Being in a wildcat split also means your property would be considered a county island, and you would not receive Town services.
• Consider hiring a real estate professional or an attorney to discuss any large property purchases.
