Queen Creek's Intergovernmental Relations 

The Town's intergovernmental relations staff educates and advocates on behalf of the community at the Arizona State Legislature in accordance with the Town’s Legislative Guiding Principles and the Council-adopted Corporate Strategic Plan.  Intergovernmental relations staff, in collaboration with other Town departments, is also responsible for representing the Town with statewide and regional partner organizations including the League of Arizona Cities and Towns, Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) and the Central Arizona Governments (CAG).

State Relations

Intergovernmental relations staff engages members of the Arizona State Legislature and the Office of the Governor as well as staff on issues of local and statewide significance.  Efforts are guided by the Town's Legislative Guiding Principles, adopted annually by the Town Council before the start of each legislative session.

Legislative Action Alerts

At various points during the legislative session, bills may be introduced that, if adopted, would significantly impact the Town and its residents. In these instances, the Town may ask for your assistance to contact Legislators to explain how the bill will affect you as a resident.

If you would like to be notified when the Town needs resident assistance with contacting Legislators, please sign up for legislative action alerts through the e-notification system below. When e-mails are sent out, they will provide a summary of the issue, a draft communication and contact information for applicable state Legislators.

Legislative Bulletin

Throughout the legislative session, Town staff participates in weekly meetings coordinated by the League of Arizona Cities and Towns to review and discuss the status of legislation. The League publishes a weekly Legislative Bulletin that highlights bills of general interest to cities and towns. The bulletin is published on Fridays and is only published during the legislative session.
