Disposing of used cooking oil or grease in your drain can lead to serious problems, such as backups and overflows. It is also hazardous to place it in your trash or recycling carts, as it creates a dangerous, flammable mess.

Recycling your used cooking oil and grease helps the Town keep its sewers free from backups and overflows, contributes to clean air, prevents truck fires, and turns the used cooking oil and grease into biodiesel fuel.

It's easy to recycle your used cooking oil and grease! Just follow these three easy steps:

  1. Strain your cooking oil and grease at home to remove any food particles.
  2. Pour only strained cooking oil and grease into the recycling receptacle through the grates.
  3. Remember to take your container with you when you leave to reuse for next time.
