Clean air is essential for healthy life. To help ensure we have clean air, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sets standards that states and municipalities like Queen Creek must meet. The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), Maricopa County, and Pinal County also regulate air quality in the Town of Queen Creek.

What is the Town doing to keep our air clean?
The Town of Queen Creek has taken an active an ongoing role in the reduction of PM-10 particulate matter (dust).
In addition, Queen Creek has committed to the following:
- Establish an online form for reporting air quality concerns.
- Modify right-of-way encroachment and onsite building permits to include a reminder of dust control requirements.
- Monitor off-road vehicle activity and gather data to determine problem areas and enforcement measures.
- Clean Town-owned streets with PM-10 certified street sweepers.
- Stabilize unpaved public parking lots and drive approaches.
- Stabilize unpaved shoulders in the Town with a dust control suppressant.
- Continue to require paving of all public roads in the Town’s jurisdiction and to enforce current zoning ordinances and building permit requirements related to dust control.
