If you are the registered owner or the spouse of the registered owner or identified on MVD record as having an interest in the vehicle, you have the following rights:

• You have ten (10) days from the date of the Notice of Impoundment to request a hearing, to determine if the impound met the requirements of ARS 28-3511, by phone, in writing, or in person at the Queen Creek Police Department.
• The Towing Unit hours are Monday through Thursday from 12pm-3pm, excluding holidays, and located in the Public Safety Building at 20727 E Civic Parkway, Queen Creek, Arizona 85142.
• To schedule an appointment, call 480-358-3511.
• Scheduled Hearings will be conducted in person within five (5) business days from your request at 10727 E Civic Parkway Queen Creek, Arizona 85142.
• If you do not request a hearing, or fail to keep your scheduled hearing, you will have waived your rights to a hearing.

Per state law, vehicles are eligible for early release under the following scenarios:

• The vehicle was stolen and a stolen report was filed with the appropriate agency
• The vehicle is subject to bailment and is driven by an employee of a business establishment, including a parking service or repair garage
• The owner presents proof that the owner’s driving privilege has been reinstated
• If ALL the following apply:

1. The owner or owner’s agent was not the person driving at the time of the impound AND
2. The owner or owner’s agent is in the business of renting motor vehicles without drivers AND
3. The vehicle is registered under ARS 28-2166. 

• OR if the spouse or person identified as owner of the vehicle was not the driver at the time of impoundment and they enter into an agreement with Queen Creek Police Department that stipulates they will not allow a driver who does not have a valid driving privilege or commits a violation pursuant to ARS 28-3511 to drive this vehicle for a period of one (1) year from the date of the agreement.

• Valid license for whomever the vehicle will be released to.
• Valid registration on the impounded vehicle.
  • Registered owner information must pre-date the impoundment
• Valid insurance on the impounded vehicle.
• $150 administrative fee in cash or money order (made payable to the Town of Queen Creek).
• Notarized Power of Attorney Letter – when applicable.
  • Downloadable Power of Attorney Letter
• Additional documents, as required.

If any of the original documents are in the impounded vehicle, please visit the tow yard to retrieve them before your appointment.

  • You are a motor vehicle dealer, bank, credit union or acceptance corporation or any other licensed institution legally operating in this state AND
  •  You pay all towing and storage fees related to the impound (unless the vehicle is stolen and has been reported to the appropriate agency) AND
  • All of the following original, notarized documents will need to be provided:
    • Foreclosure documents or title
    • Affidavit of Repossession
    • Hold Harmless Agreement

 **In all cases you must obtain an authorized release from the Queen Creek Police Department, meet all the requirements of the authorized release, and pay all applicable fees and charges before your vehicle will be released. Additionally, a valid driver's license, registration for the impounded vehicle, and insurance will need to be provided.**

Arizona law requires the owner to pay for all towing expenses (as bid by the individual tow company), and an administrative fee of $150.00. The towing and storage charges are paid to the tow company, the administrative fee is paid to the Town of Queen Creek prior to the release of the vehicle.
