Hiring an Off-Duty Police Officer
In order to efficiently respond to requests and manage employment of off-duty police officers, the Queen Creek Police Department has partnered with Off-Duty Management to provide services related to hiring off-duty officers effective January 24, 2022.
You may request to hire off-duty police officers for security through the Off-Duty Management web-based service, OfficerTRAK®, or calling the toll-free number below.
Off Duty Management provides the following to the customer:
- Online access to information through the OfficerTRAK® software including:
o Job status
o Officer attendance
o Field notes and media files
o Post orders and instructions
o Past and future shift information
- Full liability coverage for the customer, the agency, and officer
- 24/7 customer service through their toll-free number
- Dedicated point of contact for scheduling and invoicing
- Officer payroll
Organizations that have recurring needs for off-duty officers can establish an account and schedule billing cycles with off-duty management.
Prohibited Off-Duty Employment*:
Employees are not authorized to work any off-duty, extra-duty, or secondary employment that does or may conflict with law enforcement duties or the Department’s best interest. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Acting as an expert witness in litigation.
- Working as a civil processor.
- Collection of bad debts, adjusting claims, or recovering property covered by a security agreement in default of payment.
- Private investigations, security consultant services, and/or investigation/reconstruction of accidents/collisions/crashes.
- Working as a bouncer.
- Working at the scene of a labor dispute.
- Working at any business or location where the primary focus is the sale of alcoholic beverages or dispensing or use of medical marijuana.
- Working at any business or location where the primary focus is adult entertainment or sexual-based industries (e.g. escort services, adult bookstores, adult theaters, adult entertainment centers).
- Working at any towing service the Town utilizes for services.
- Working at a bail bond agency.
- Any gambling establishment.
- Employment where alcoholic beverages are the principal business may be permitted upon approval of the Chief of Police or designee.

- There is a 3 Hour Minimum Per Request.
- *Holiday rate will apply for the following days: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, MLK Day, Presidents’ Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.
- **Emergency Rate: Applies when request is less than 48 hours before start of request
- Note: Marked vehicles are required for all traffic control request.
Cancellation policy:
Once an assignment has been approved and scheduled. Customers canceling or reducing assignment within 25 hours of the start of the assignment are required to pay the agency minimum of 3 hours plus ODM administrative fees for the first 24 hours of the original assignment.
