Abel-Pfister-Ball 230kV Transmission Project
Formerly named the Abel-Moody 230kV transmission project. The Arizona Corporation Commission voted unanimously on December 15, 2009 to confirm Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) allowing Salt River Project (SRP) permission to build the Abel-Pfister-Ball 230 kilovolt power line. The State of Arizona via the Arizona Corporation Commission has ultimate legal authority for planning, siting, and final approval for power line projects. The high voltage line alignment begins at the Moody substation at Recker and Pecos roads, extends south along the Union Pacific Railroad, east on Ryan Road, south on Signal Butte Road and follows the Union Pacific Railroad to the Magma Railroad into the Abel substation at Judd and Attaway roads.
