A recap of what your Town Council has been up to during the month of May.
Mayor Wheatley, Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Brown, McClure, Oliphant and Padilla attended the grand opening of the new Fry's Marketplace on Queen Creek and Signal Butte. Mayor Wheatley provided welcome remarks.
Mayor Wheatley and Council Member McClure participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Village at Schnepf Farms Community on May 1.
At the May 1 Town Council Meeting, Mayor Wheatley and the Town Council recognized the last round of 2024 Queen Creek Star Students.
The Town Council also recognized Queen Creek Economic Development Director Doreen Cott at the May 1 meeting for receiving an Economic Development Distinguished by Excellence Award from the Arizona Association for Economic Development.
On May 2, Mayor Wheatley and Council Member McClure attended the Queen Creek Economic Development Summit, where Mayor Wheatley welcomed attendees.
Mayor Wheatley hosted the Town's first Teen Voices Summit on May 4 at the Queen Creek Library. Mayor Wheatley, Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Oliphant and Padilla welcomed the teen attendees.
Council Member Bryan McClure represented the Town of Queen Creek on the Greater Phoenix Economic Council ExecMission, held in Washington, D.C. May 6 - 9.
At the May 15 Town Council Meeting, Mayor and Council recognized the 48 graduates of the Town's 2024 Citizen Leadership Institute program.
Mayor Wheatley and Council Member McClure attended the grand opening of Nordstrom Rack at Queen Creek Marketplace on May 16. Mayor Wheatley provided welcome remarks.
Council Member McClure also attended the grand opening of Tavalo Queen Creek Residences on May 16 and provided remarks.
Mayor Wheatley provided remarks at the San Tan Memorial Gardens Memorial Day Service on May 27. Council Members Robin Benning, Bryan McClure and Dawn Oliphant also attended the ceremony.
Council Member Bryan McClure toured the Pointe at Power Marketplace with Queen Creek Economic Development Director Doreen Cott on May 29.
