A recap of what your Town Council has been up to during the month of June.
Queen Creek held its annual What's Poppin' in QC event on June 4. Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Brown, McClure and Padilla attended the event and talked with attendees.
On June 4, Mayor Wheatley attended the Arizona Chamber of Business and Commerce Annual Awards where she received the 2024 Best City for Business Award on behalf of the Town of Queen Creek.
Council Member Oliphant attended the Queen Creek Chamber Women in Business event on June 5.
On June 5, Mayor Wheatley and Council Member McClure attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Chick-fil-A- on Ocotillo and Ironwood.
At the June 5 Town Council Meeting, Mayor Wheatley presented the Arizona Chamber of Business and Commerce 2024 Best City for Business Award to the Queen Creek Town Council.
Town Council also proclaimed June 19 as Juneteenth at the Town Council Meeting. Mayor Wheatley provided the proclamation to Keona Shorter from the Queen Creek Juneteenth Festival Committee.
The Town of Queen Creek held the grand opening of Frontier Family Park on Saturday, June 8.
Mayor Wheatley provided welcome remarks.
Town Council Members Brown, McClure and Oliphant participated in the ribbon cutting.
Council Members Benning, McClure and Oliphant attended the Queen Creek Annual Juneteenth Festival on June 15 at Crismon High School.
On June 18, Mayor Wheatley was selected to chair the Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport Authority Board.
Mayor Wheatley also attended the Maricopa Association of Governments Transportation Policy Committee on June 18.At this meeting, she recognized outgoing TPC Chair and Buckeye Mayor Erik Orsborn. Mayor Wheatley has served as Vice Chair of the Committee and will become Chair of the Committee in August.
Council Member Dawn Oliphant was appointed to the Arizona Municipal Tax Code Commission. She attended the first meeting on June 25.
On June 25, Vice Mayor Leah Martineau provided welcome remarks for attendees of the quarterly For our Town Meeting at the Hampton Inn.
