A recap of what your Town Council has been up to during the month of February. 

Las Colinas Golf Club and the Social Birdie held their ribbon cutting ceremonies on Friday, February 2.

Mayor Wheatley, Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Brown and McClure attended the ribbon cuttings. 

On February 3, Mayor Julia Wheatley and Council Members Robin Benning and Jeff Brown attended the Queen Creek Black History Month celebration hosted by the Black Heritage Connection and provided a proclamation in honor of Black History Month.

At the February 7 Town Council meeting, the Queen Creek Town Council proclaimed American Heart Association Go Red for Women Month. 

The Town Council also issued a proclamation in recognition of local athlete Brock Purdy, who participated in the 2024 Super Bowl. 

The February 7 Town Council meeting included a presentation of a proclamation honoring the School Resource Officers in Queen Creek. 

Additionally, the Town Council meeting recognized the local chapter of Blue Star Mothers, who accepted a proclamation for Blue Star Mother's Day. 

On February 9, Duck Donuts opened in Queen Creek. Mayor Wheatley and Council Member McClure attended the ribbon cutting. 

The Town Council celebrated Queen Creek's 35th Anniversary at the 2024 State of the Town on February 13. Mayor Wheatley addressed attendees and led a panel with Queen Creek's "founding fathers."

On February 20, Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport opened its Airport Terminal South Concourse. Mayor Wheatley and Council Members Benning, McClure, Oliphant and Padilla attended the event. As a PMGAA Board Member, Mayor Wheatley participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony. 

Council Members Bryan McClure and Travis Padilla participated in the ribbon cutting for the Joint Chiropractic on February 20. 

At the February 21 Town Council Meeting, Boy Scout Troop 50 joined the Queen Creek Town Council and led meeting attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Vice Mayor Leah Martineau served as a judge at Queen Creek's first Civics Bee on February 23. 

Council Member McClure joined Vice Mayor Martineau for the Civics Bee Meet & Greet with competition participants. 

On February 23, Mayor Julia Wheatley joined individuals from across the Valley in a water roundtable hosted by Congressman Ruben Gallego. 

The Queen Creek Town Council participated in their annual strategic planning session on February 23 & 24. 

Council Member Bryan McClure attended the ribbon cutting for Mici Italian on February 27. 

Queen Creek High School senior government classes hosted Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Benning and McClure on February 28. Council members spoke to the students about local government and the growth of Queen Creek.
