A recap of what your Town Council has been up to during the month of August.
At the Aug. 7 Town Council Meeting, the Queen Creek Town Council recognized the students who participated in a summer internship program with the Town's Public Works Department.
The Town Council also recognized the Queen Creek Information Technology Department for their work on keeping the Town safe and connected during the Crowdstrike outage.
Vice Mayor Martineau spoke at the Queen Creek Rotary Club's Raising Resilient Kids event on Aug. 8. Mayor Wheatley and Council Member Brown also attended.
Mayor Wheatley, Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Member Brown attended the graduation ceremony for Queen Creek Police Department Class # 6 on Aug. 15.
Mayor Wheatley and Council Member McClure attended the Tri-City Chamber Luncheon with Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee on Aug. 15.
The East Valley Chambers of Commerce hosted a Mayors' Roundtable on Aug. 16 and Mayor Wheatley attended on behalf of the Town of Queen Creek.
Mayor Wheatley, Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Member Padilla spoke with Queen Creek High School senior government classes on Aug. 21.
Mayor Wheatley and Council Members Benning, Brown, McClure and Oliphant attended the League of Arizona Cities and Towns Conference, Aug. 27 - 30 in Phoenix.
During the League Annual Conference, Mayor Wheatley represented Queen Creek at the Resolutions Committee Meeting, which has one representative from each incorporated municipality in Arizona.
The Town of Queen Creek also had delegates from local Queen Creek High Schools attend the League Annual Youth Program on Aug. 28. Mayor Wheatley and Council Members Benning and Oliphant met with students for discussions throughout the day.
At the League Annual Conference, Mayor Wheatley moderated a panel session on state transportation in her role as Chair of the Maricopa Association of Governments Transportation Policy Committee.
Council Member Brown received a 16-year Service Award from the League of Arizona Cities and Towns at their Annual Legislative Awards Luncheon on Aug. 29.
