Public comment sought for General Plan Amendments
During its July 18 meeting, the Queen Creek Town Council authorized the start of the Town’s major General Plan amendment process for 2012. This year, six amendments are being presented for consideration. A public open house was held on Aug. 29 to gather feedback from residents, with an additional open house scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11 in the Queen Creek Branch Library's Zane Grey Room, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road.

Queen Creek offers free Day of Play event on Oct. 13
Come spend the morning or early afternoon at the Library Recreation Annex as the Recreation Division promotes heath, wellness, and fitness for youth, teens and adults of all ages. Free activities will get the kids playing and their minds active, while teens and parents can explore the various exercise classes and improve their health and fitness.

QUESTIONS TO THE TOWN
I've noticed the signs that say a new traffic signal is coming to the intersection of Sossaman and Chandler Heights roads. When will this happen?
A new traffic signal for this intersection is currently being designed. Once the design has been completed, the Town will order the new traffic signal equipment and work with a contractor to begin the installation. It is anticipated the new traffic signal will be completed and operational in late November or early December, 2012.

There have been an awful lot of mosquitos in Queen Creek lately. What is the Town doing about it, and have there been any cases of West Nile Virus reported in our area?
The heat, coupled with monsoon rains have provided ideal mosquito breeding conditions over the past few weeks. Maricopa County is responsible for mosquito control in our area, and they do offer an online complaint form to report mosquito issues.
