The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) RightRoads Program, in partnership with the Town of Queen Creek, is conducting a public open house meeting to gather community input on preliminary design plans for future roadway widening and drainage improvements on Riggs Road between Power Road and Hawes Road. This project will construct full intersection improvements at the intersections of Riggs Road and Power Road and at Riggs Road and Sossaman Road.
Proposed improvements include a minimum of two through lanes in each direction, dedicated left-turn lanes and dedicated right-turn lanes. Between intersections, the roadway will consist primarily of four lanes (two travel lanes in each direction) with a continuous center left-turn lane and bike lanes. Proposed drainage improvements include curb/gutter, channels, basins and new storm drain. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in January/February of 2014.
Stop by anytime between 5-7 p.m. to speak with MCDOT project team members. Project information maps and exhibits will be available for viewing during the meeting.
