Young pro-football fans ages 6-15 are invited to compete in the free NFL Punt, Pass & Kick (PPK) local competition. PPK is a national initiative that provides boys and girls ages 6 to 15 the opportunity to participate in an exciting football skills competition, showcasing their abilities in punting, passing and kicking. Scoring is based on distance and accuracy.
Boys and girls compete separately in five age divisions: 6/7, 8/9, 10/11, 12/13 and 14/15. Age classification is as of Dec. 31 of the current year. Participants must provide a copy of their birth certificate and have a parent and/or guardian complete a registration waiver form prior to the start of the competition.
To avoid long lines the day of the event, pre-register by Thursday, Aug. 26. On-site registration will also be held the day of the competition.
According to NFL rules, no football shoes/cleats/turf shoes will be allowed. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottles.
Punt, Pass & Kick is one of many activities to be featured at the San Tan Youth Football League (STYFL) Opening Day. Begin by participating in the PPK competition, then join STYFL for event festivities including carnival games, inflatable attractions and team scrimmages. Admission to the event and participation in PPK are free; additional STYFL activities and food have nominal fees.
