We'll begin by discussing the basics of the computer (hardware like the mouse, keyboard, printer, etc.), then we'll move onto practicing hands-on with Windows (using XP). By the midpoint of class, we hope to be able to manage the desktop & task-bar, as well as arrange files and documents (saving, moving, or deleting files) using the mouse. For the last half of the session, we get in control. We'll start by hopping online & exploring the Internet. We'll take a look at a few components that are commonly found on Web browsers & discuss some common terms (such as "favorites", "homepage", "antivirus" & "spyware"). By the end of class, we'll be surfing through sites like Google, Bing, & Yahoo! Registration needed. Library Conference Room. At the Maricopa County Library District's Queen Creek Branch Library.
