Saturday, Nov. 8 will mark an historic day for Queen Creek with the grand opening of the new Queen Creek library. Residents are invited to join the celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the library site located at the northwest corner of Ellsworth and Ocotillo roads.
The community event will include a variety of activities for the whole family including live entertainment, displays, children’s games and crafts, puppet shows, cool treats, a book parade, ribbon cutting, flag raising, Friends of the Library book sale, recreation class demonstrations and registration, Queen Creek Performing Arts Center and other local group performances, building facts, book signing, giveaways and library card sign-up. A landmark project, the Queen Creek library is designed to provide a gathering place for people of all ages. The library includes the Mary Lou Fulton Children’s Area, the Teen Oasis, general reading areas, public computers, study rooms, conference rooms and recreation programming space.
The new library represents a partnership between the Town of Queen Creek and the Maricopa County Library District. The Queen Creek branch library provides materials in all formats and a variety of adult and juvenile programming. Note that the current Queen Creek library building located at the Community Center across from Town Hall will close permanently on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
