Ages 12-18. Teen writers, kickstart your November NaNoWriMo (Write a Novel in a Month) with a hands-on workshop. Spill Ink NaNo Camp Queen Creek alums come back for more writing fun and collect your summer time capsuled writing. Tom Leveen, author of young adult novels Party, Zero, and Manicpixiedreamgirl, will conduct a workshop for teen writers on Dialogue. Dialogue is frequently cited as an author's biggest challenge. With 22 years of theatre experience and critical praise for his spot-on dialogue, Tom shares a number of techniques taken from the perspective of an actor and director to polish your dialogue to a shine! (No performance or public speaking is required.) Space limited to 20 teens. Registration needed. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 after the main program and teen writers will have an opportunity to learn more about NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and to form a teen writers group, if interested.
