The Maricopa County Department of Transportation's (MCDOT) RightRoads Program, in partnership with the Town of Queen Creek and Town of Gilbert, is conducting a public open house meeting to gather community input on preliminary design plans for future roadway widening and drainage improvements on Riggs Road between Recker and Power roads.
This project will construct full intersection improvements at Riggs and Recker roads. Intersection improvements are anticipated to include at least two through lanes in each direction, dedicated left turn lanes and dedicated right turn lanes. The widened roadway will primarily be six lanes (three travel lanes in each direction) and will include a continuous center left turn lane and bike lanes. Drainage improvements are anticipated to include curb and gutter on both sides of the roadway, channels, basins and segments of storm drain pipe.
Stop by anytime between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to speak with MCDOT project team members. Project information, maps and exhibits will be available for viewing during the meeting.
