Denny Barney, Maricopa County Board of Supervisors (District 1), in partnership with Queen Creek Mayor Gail Barney,
invite you to participate in a tour event of the Pozos de Sonoqui Archaeological Site, an ancient Hohokam village located in the Salt River Valley near the San Tan Mountains.

Morning Session: 10:00 a.m.
Special tour and presentation hosted by Maricopa County Department of Transportation, (MCDOT), Supervisor Denny Barney and Queen Creek Mayor Gail Barney
for County, Town and Tribal Representatives

Afternoon Session:
1:00 p.m.
Presentation and tour conducted exclusively for Professional and Avocational Archaeologists

Participate and learn more about the native Hohokam culture and the efforts of MCDOT and the Town of Queen Creek to recover, preserve and document ancient artifacts as part of the national environmental and cultural resources regulations associated with the design of the future Riggs Road extension between Ellsworth Road and Meridian Road.
