In 2022, S.B. 1168 was signed into Arizona law, allowing municipalities limited ability to regulate short-term rentals.
In late 2022, the Town implemented requirements for operators of short-term rentals. At the Nov. 1 meeting, Council amended the requirements, including eliminating the license and associated fees. Short-term rental operators are still required to register their properties.
The short-term rental registration ensures contact information is on file in the event of an emergency, provides information on prohibited uses and shares other helpful information.
